Edwards graduated from East Texas State University at age eighteen and earned a master of divinity at age twenty-two from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. During his seventy years of ministry, he travelled extensively to hold conferences and raise organic churches in the U.S. and other nations and helped them toward a deeper Christian life and experience of church as it originally was practiced in the first century.
